*Siddy roils around in is bed*--- feels somethings not quite right. It's different, off almost.
(it was just a bad dream)
*He calms his wrestling, rolls onto his back, rubs his eyes and starts to wake up*...
*He stares at the ceiling for a moment taking in his surroundings*
It smells like, old decrepit dirt in here..I really need to clean my....
*he sits up in his bed startled*--it all comes hurling back to him..
None of that was a dream...we didn't make it to Disney!
Being the adventurous little boy that Siddy is, it didn't take him long to climb down from his bunk and explore the Barracks.
Just inside, he overheard some plans of exploration to locate food, water, general safety supplies and to return to the crash site to see if anything could be salvage. As well as setting up an SOS.
We gathered some of our belonging that we were able to salvage directly after the crash, huddle together with a couple adults and head on out...
We come across some crates just around the corner...here we found some ammunition (the adults claimed all that for themselves, Pfft. Typical!!!)
I decided to look behind the big stack of boxes that no one was digging through yet. Here I found a boomerang (awesome!!!) and a crossbow (No frckin way!!) I stash them in my bookbag quickly so no one can claim them for themselves. A kid has to be prepared ya know! I'm not leaving anything to JUST the adults. Orphans have spunk, that's how we survive day to day.
On our way back we overhear some animal sounds...
Deer!!! We stumbles across some deer!!
Mr. Landon took action quickly and shot it.
It was the saddest thing I ever saw'd.
He must have seen the pain and shock some of our faces. He proceeded to explain to us that it was a necessary action. We have to eat and this would also provide warmth if we need.
Back at the barrack some of the adults that stayed behind with the other kids made use and built a fire..
It took me all of 2.5 seconds to sit down and get warm...
Things we'rent looking so grim. We told stories, sang some songs and..for the first time ever...I ate deer meet! (Once you get past the hair, it ain't so bad!)
Disney was not just a dream...but Survival is now a reality.
